From Elaine Child via Nancy Vogt: Surrogate court records of Genesee Co concerning Urania's plight after Peter Powers died: " Urania Powers is now a widow leaving (living) in Elba on March 13, 1830 when she is supposed to be selling off the 117 1/2 acres in Batavia to James Brisbane ?? On 10-1-1839, Urania Powers of Elba, embarrassed in her circumstances & affairs & is at this time unable to pay off & discharge such debts as are now "due" signed over property to cover debts."
