Mary Palmer was buried 1 September 1613 in
Middleton Cheney. This may be John's widow. No other Palmer woman
had a burial recorded in Middleton Cheney in this time period,
other than another Mary, the wife of John Palmer (junior) 6
December 1588.
John and Mary had the following children:
*1.
Agnes, born in about 1556 of Warkworth; married
Thomas Gulliver
3 February 1578 in
Middleton Cheney; buried 29 May 1609 in Middleton
Cheney.
Other Palmers in Middleton Cheney and Warkworth were:
- John Palmer left a will in 1598, as a husbandman of
Warkworth, naming his sons Thomas, Edwarde (christened 1572
in Middleton Cheney), and Ralphe Palmer. John also had a
daughter Ales (christened 1570, buried 1573 in Middleton
Cheney). Mary, the wife of John Palmer, died and was buried
1588 in Middleton Cheney. Possibly John was Agnes' brother,
the son of John Palmer (senior).
- Thomas Palmer, husbandman of Warkworth left a will
in 1623.
- Ralph Palmer of Warkworth left a will in 1634,
with bequests to daughters Sara, Mary, Margaret, sons John,
Samuel, and William. William was under the age of 21 at the
time of the will. Ralph's wife, not named, was the
executor. Ralph may be another brother. Ralph's wife was
Joanne in the christenings of their children in the
Middleton Cheney parish register.
An earlier Palmer is found in Chacombe:
- John Palmer of Chacombe left a will in 1551 which
mentioned Dorothy Palmer, John Palmer, Jone Palmer and Mary
Palmer. Chacombe is 1 1/2 miles north of Middleton Cheney.
Possibly this John was the father of Agnes' father John
Palmer.
