Thomas Perrot was born in about 1385, the son of Stephen Perrot and Helen Howell. He married Alice Picton. Alice was the daughter of Sir John Picton (John ap William Picton).

"Knighted sometime between 1442 and 1446, Perrot occupied high office in the earldom for more than twenty years, serving as sheriff and steward of the county." (Turvey)

From Barnwell: "He may have acquired the Scotsborough estate by marriage; but though whom is not mentioned in any genealogy. Among the records of the corporation of Tenby is a deed of John Chepman to Thomas Perrot and Alicia his wife; her name being included in the deed, as if a joint possessor of the estate with her husband. This Alice, therefore, may have been the heiress of the estate, through whom it descended to the Perrots. The document is dated 3 Henry V [1415]." (Perrots Notes)

1422 Deed granting lands from John Picton to Thomas Perrot and Alice his wife


This deed, in Latin, is a grant of lands from John Picton to his son-in-law, Thomas Perrot, and his daughter, Alice, the wife of Thomas Perrot. At the bottom of the document is a seal with the Picton coat of arms. “Grant in tail, by John Picton, esquire, to Thomas Perrot, son of Stephen Perrot, esquire, and Alice his wife, daughter of the grantor, of all his messuages, lands, and rents &c. in Bikton in Ros [Bicton is in the parish of Hasguard in the Hundred of Rhos, or Roose], at a yearly rent of two greyhounds (leporarios): Monday after the conversion of St. Paul, 9 Henry V [1422]”. Stephen Perrot was born in about 1355, of Eastington, Pembrokeshire, Wales and of Scotsborough, the son of Peter Perrot and Alice Harold. He married Helen Howell, the heiress of Woodstock, Pembrokeshire, Wales. Helen was the daughter of John Howell and Ellen Hill.

Stephen Perrot was mayor of Tenby in 1413. He "remained loyal to the Crown during the Welsh rebellion led by Owain Glyndwr, with whom he negotiated on behalf of the people of Pembrokeshire, a truce in 1405." (Turvey)

Peter Perrot was born in about 1330, the son of John Perrot and Jane Joes. He married Alice Harold, the daughter of Richard Harold and Eleanor Hill. Peter was most likely responsible for moving his family to Eastington, and building a fortified manor house.

Peter's father died when he was under legal age, and his sister Isolda acted as his guardian. Peter sued in 1373 to get the profits from his property.

Peter died in 1378.

John Perrot was born in about 1305 of Popton, the son of Stephen Perrot and Mabel Kastel. He married Jane Joes, the daughter of John Joes of Prendergast. "The wife of John Perrot was Jane, daughter and heir of Sir John Joyce of Prendergast." (Perrot Notes)

John died 13 January 1349, and may have been one of the first victims of the Black Death.


John and Jane had the following children:

1. Isolda, married William Benegar.

2. Alice, married Stephen Malefant.

Andrew Perrot was born in about 1200, the son of Stephen Perrot and Ellen verch Merchion. He married Jannett Mortimer, the daughter of Ralph Mortimer, the Lord of Wigmore, and Gwladus the Dark of Gwynedd. (Gwladus was the daughter of Llewelyn the Great, Prince of Wales.)


Andrew and Jannett had the following children:
